Own Your ADHD

Own Your ADHD

January 07, 20251 min read

That’s right – own it.

Make it your bit** and you can do anything.

ADHD is part of your psychological makeup. If you are officially diagnosed there’s no changing it.

Don’t just acknowledge it, as I did for 20 some years, paying lip service publicly but internally rejecting it, or worse not understanding the facts.

Stop wasting your own time and money wondering what you’re doing wrong or what’s wrong with you. You already know, you just haven’t connected the dots yet.

Embrace your diagnosis of ADHD and you’ll be able to seek help, in whatever form you feel comfortable with, improving your life immeasurably.

After that:

  • You’ll be able to rationally discuss it with others, like your loved ones. Giving them the ultimate insight into your strange ways which might just answer a few questions they had along the way.

  • You’ll learn to see what you need to be successful in life or work, and then be able to ask for it.

  • You’ll learn to adapt and cope along the way, building resilience – which can get you through a lot.

Reframing your view of self in connection with ADHD is one of the best things you’ll do for yourself – ever.

In my opinion this is the number one way to stop ADHD from ruining your life.

It’s a choice you have to make over and over again but it’s the right choice.

This has nothing to do with will power. It’s a process.
